Fascinated with Writing ✍️

I still remember that day — I was too young, maybe around 12 years old — but I know the precise moment when I fell in love with reading and writing.

How I started Reading & Writing

Back then, our school library had magazines like Tinkle and Champak, and I’d eagerly wait for that weekly library period. I’d flip through the pages, look at the pictures, read the stories, and get completely lost in them.

Soon, it became a pattern. My curiosity for what happens next in those stories grew so much that I turned to newspapers — even the kids’ newspapers in regional Gujarati language. The visuals, short stories, and articles kept me hooked.

But that wasn’t enough. I started reading every newspaper that came home. I still remember waking up early just to fetch the paper before anyone else — even if I had exams or had to rush for school.

And then one fine Sunday morning — the newspaper didn’t arrive. I panicked, searched everywhere, and finally discovered that my mom had hidden it in the attic! She said I’d get it only after I studied for my exams.

BANG!!! Tears started flowing. I want it anyhow!!

 That heartbreak still feels real — it was the first time I realized how deeply I was connected to reading.

Don’t judge my mom though! Two years later, when I turned 14, she was the one who encouraged me to write my first story, which eventually got published in a kids’ newspaper (Indian Express supplement).

That’s where my roots in writing and storytelling truly began. When people ask about my writing journey, they’re surprised to know I’ve been a reader since childhood — and that’s what shaped the writer I am today.

Do you have a similar story for your passion?? Writing, your business, dancing, any art??
