Short Romcom Recs!!

The Exception to the rule by Christuna Lauren

Short story that can be read in an hour!!

The story starts with email conversation between two people who have been messaging mistakenly and now, it had become a habit.

๐Ÿ“š Story is crisp, short and entertainment.

๐Ÿ“š It shows enough bandwidth for character description, some glimpse into past and a mix of some basic characters.

๐Ÿ“š Plot just flows and it will get you hooked so much so that you won’t be able to put it down.

A quick meet-cute read that will make you feel giddy!!

Rosie and The Dreamboat by Sally Thorne

She was trapped in a capsule!!! For hours!!

This story is all about how people think that they are not an overachiever like their siblings and no one would be interested in them but later they find out that their USP of being there for someone is the only thing that attract many people!!

๐Ÿ“š Sisters plan an expensive date for Galentines but end up getting trapped in a capsule.

๐Ÿ“š The thriller, bravery and strong connections to the past are very beautifully shown.

๐Ÿ“š Character sketch is flawless and how in just 2 hours in the story, the characters know so much about each other.

๐Ÿ“š The plot is steady but the hours are never-ending and nerve wrenching.

I am not a thriller reader due to anxiety but I couldn’t put this down even for a minute.

Royal Valentine by Sariah Wilson

Royal’s life looks fascinating but they could be suffocating in their situation where they cannot escape the shows, press or behaviour that they have to maintain.

๐Ÿ“š Story talks about two Royals, who stumble upon each other as commoners during their escape towards a normal life.

๐Ÿ“š Character sketch is very specific, as it becomes tough to hide their identity, show their traits under false pretence.

๐Ÿ“š Plot flows smoothly and one after the other scenes makes so much sense.

๐Ÿ“š The best part was the things related to Art History that they talked about, which made the story more acceptable as about Royals.

It was quick, quirky, fun read.

Just Calculating by Dhara Shah

Just Calculating is all about how people fall in love without any rules. Love just happens even when you know that it is wrong or forbidden or others might get hurt with it. Moreover, for love, how a person can do anything to be with them, even leave their loved ones behind.

๐Ÿ“š Story is about a student and professor who fall in love but no there is no major age gap.

๐Ÿ“š They try hard to stay apart but eventually find out a way to be together but it is followed by some hurdles that are tough to pass.

๐Ÿ“š It is short story with crisp, to the point and direct plot line.

๐Ÿ“š The story is gripping and so, you would want more details but as its a short story, you will have to do with it.

๐Ÿ“š Character sketch is good and there are enough side characters, who stories are mingled here and there.

Overall a quick read with a lot of fun!!

Worst Wingman Ever by Abby Jimenez

The characters, depth, background, past, present, emotions, everything is so raw in this little story. How did the author even did justice to the story in such short pages!!

๐Ÿ“š Story is about delivering a letter to the wrong person and mitigating it by sending another letters along with some serious background.

๐Ÿ“š The characters are so well-defined. Their features, ethics, genuineness, emotions are beautifully defined.

๐Ÿ“š Plot is super easy to follow even though its a mix of past and present in present itself.

This story makes you want to know more about them even after knowing the end.
