Parenthood is a tough task and doing it single handedly is almost impossible but somehow, Olivia gets stuck in this.
Story revolves around the fact that Olivia had to do it all alone without help from her partner because of his evil mother and communication gap. Mason’s mother wants to control his life to the level that she wants to decide whom he would marry. When Olivia found out that she has concevied, Mason’s mother not only tried to buy her out but also left Mason out from this.
However, fate decided to take a turn and both of them met again, at the same location and now, Olivia couldn’t hide things about their daughter. Mason is disheartened but he survives. Their journey is what this book is about.
📚 Story signifies the fact that not all women are after money and not all men run away from unplanned kids.
📚 Both characters are very well groomed and throughout the story they do not waver even a bit from their character. No consolations. Nothing. They are who they are.
📚 In the beginning, the story traps a reader but by 30% it gets monotonous and a reader would wait for a blow. Which happens later in the story. It picks up pace after 50%
📚 The reality of the story remains intact. Nothing happens out of the context and that feels good.
📚 It felt like the story could have included another lovestory to fill the gaps. Also, there are some thoughts mentioned by main leads which are not shown in the discussion. Like Olivia thinks that Mason always says that she says yes to everything that Mason suggests. However, before this line, there was no mention of the fact in any conversation.
Overall a good story, awesome plot but writing would have been much better. Some X factor was missing in the book but I loved reading it.
